Obedience
To some people, obedience is simply training their pet to sit, stay, and heel on
command. Other people go farther and compete in organized competition to see
how well their dogs can follow specific commands. Follow this link to the official AKC Obedience site.

Kindergarten Puppy Training (KPT)
KPT Classes are held all year round at the Fond du Lac County Kennel Club Clubhouse. This class is for puppies up to 6 months old. We teach very basic obedience with a stress on socialization. The puppy will learn, stay, off, down, come, heel, sit, no, jump and wait. Some puppies may exhibit behavioral problems at a young age and we talk about these problems in class and offer suggestions on how to stop bad behaviors. We would also recommend a Behavior Specialist if we feel we cannot handle the problem ourselves. We also talk about housebreaking, crate training, traveling with your pet, when to discipline, socialization and how to recognize dominant and subordinate behavior. We also have an obedience demonstration and a grooming demonstration. This class runs for 10 weeks, for 1 hour per week.
Older Puppy Training
We will be starting a 4-5 week basic obedience class for older puppies (approx 6-12 months of age). It will be starting in late march, but the dates have not been decided yet. For more information or to sign up, use the contact information in the left pane on this page.
